Some great cars were at this years POCI Convention in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Chapter officers in attendance selected the cars they thought were most deserving of the awards to be presented. Once again, Bernie Hackett came to the convention with gorgeous silver trays to be presented to the show winners. Thanks Bernie! Any ETC member showing a stock ETC era car is automatically in the running for one of the “Show Within a Show” awards. Nine members showed ETC type cars at the convention. Interestingly enough, all the cars chosen this year are first time winners. Now let’s look at the cars. The third place car this year was a ’30 coupe belonging top Bobby Hughes from Lubbock Texas. This car is a survivor car and was awarded gold in the points judged show. Next we have the second place car, a ‘39 four-door sedan from Eudora Kansas belonging to Gene and Jane Stieben. Class “C” in the popular vote show featured six cars and this one took home a third place award. Last but not least, the car chosen as a first place car comes from Hollister Missouri. This green ’27 four door belongs to Dwight and Nancy Ford and it received a silver in the stock points judged class. Next year there will once again be an ETC “Show Within a Show” when the POCI Convention makes the journey to Spearfish South Dakota. See you there! |
